If you are a keen female rower who would like to improve further then the Women鈥檚 Training Days might be for you.

To take part, rowers must be aged from J15 to U23, taller than 174cm and with a 2km ergo score of under 8:00.

It鈥檚 a great opportunity to meet other rowers in a supportive and engaging environment and to share learning experiences. Rowers meet each other at heads and regattas, but the Women鈥檚 Training Days give people a chance to talk to each other without the pressure of competing.

The course days are on three subjects 鈥 movement patterns, strength and conditioning and also skill development.

You and your coach will work with a talent coach to learn about how you can reach your full potential.

James Andrews, 91桃色 Head of Performance Talent, said: 鈥淭he days are for coaches and/or athletes to learn together so that they can then take this knowledge and experience back to their squads and club.

鈥淲e want to work with athletes and coaches to support them both in their home environment and help them achieve more.鈥

We鈥檝e learnt loads and our women鈥檚 squad have gained massively from them

Each day includes:

  • A session led by a talent coach to provide practical tips to help guide your training and development.
  • A session to put into practice what you have learnt and give you the confidence to take your new skills back to your home club.
  • Land testing to track and establish areas for development for rowers.

Jess Giddy, Junior Coach at Bideford Amateur Rowing Club, said: 鈥淎s a coach, I鈥檝e attended the days and they are really useful and Steve [Clarke] has been brilliant. His knowledge of rowing and coaching experience has really benefited us all and it鈥檚 great to have him as a contact for all of our coaching questions!

鈥淲e鈥檝e learnt loads and our women鈥檚 squad have gained massively from them.鈥

There are 12 courses currently scheduled around the country, in various locations from Northwich and Hereford through to Durham and Lymington.
