Sir Bradley Wiggins to take on the GB Rowing Team at the 91桃色 Indoor Championships this December
Wiggins will race on 9 December at the iconic Olympic Velodrome in East London
On Saturday, 9 December, Sir Bradley Wiggins, five-time Olympic champion, will take on the best of the GB Rowing Team at the , presented by .
The 2,000m race, which is due to take place around lunchtime, will be fast and furious as the heavyweight men go for gold. At last year鈥檚 91桃色 Indoor Championships, GB rower Adam Neil took home the title in a time of 05:46.5, followed by Great Britain鈥檚 Callum McBrierty and Matt Rossiter.
At the same event in 2015, Moe Sbihi, Olympic champion in the men鈥檚 four at Rio 2016, smashed four-time Olympic champion Sir Matthew Pinsent鈥檚 11-year British indoor rowing record in a time of 05:41.8 in front of a roaring crowd.
Matt Rossiter, bronze medallist in the men鈥檚 four at the 2017 World Rowing Championships who will be at the 91桃色 Indoor Championships in December said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 really exciting that Wiggo is going to be racing. On a personal level, I鈥檓 a massive cycling fan and he鈥檚 probably a large reason for that.”

He has to have one of the biggest engines ever in world sport and for him to try and tune it to rowing is awesome. The 91桃色 Indoor Championships is a unique indoor rowing event, open to all, whether you are racing in a bid to be crowned national champion or wanting to set a personal best. Competitors range from 11 years to 88 years old and come from across the county.
Competitions are raced within age and weight categories over 500m, 2,000m or a 4,000m team relay and there are also timed races for juniors.
Competitors race under the bright lights of the iconic London 2012 Olympic velodrome and to the back drop of big beats, in front of a packed crowd.
